Welcome to Rotary District 9630 Inc. Our District consists of 51 clubs and almost 1200 Rotarians covering an area from Redland Bay, south of the Brisbane River to Beenleigh, along the western line to Charleville and south to St George.  Each club has its own unique character, its own short and long term goals and projects, its own mixture of members, gender, ages, vocations and experience but the one thing that unites us all is the desire to serve and to make a difference in the world.  Rotary‚Äôs core values are service, fellowship, diversity, Integrity and leadership.  These core values form the foundation on which we perform and conduct ourselves. They define what we stand for and inspire us to support the ideal of Service above Self. As the world is changing, we too as an organisation, need to change or adapt, however, our core values will never change. In the 2016-17 Rotary year our theme was Rotary Serving Humanity and we were encouraged to help our communities from the bush to the beach and beyond.  This year, 2017-18 our goal is to make a difference in the world, in our communities and in the lives of others. How we do this is up to each individual and each club but the one common factor in everything we do is our commitment to our core values and the ideal of service above self. We live in a changing world, the way we act, communicate and conduct our daily lives is changing.  If Rotary is to grow and prosper in this changing world then we need to adapt to these changes.  We need to be relevant to our membership and to the members we are trying to attract to our organisation.  I am honoured and privileged to serve you as your District Governor for 2017-18.  I know each and everyone one of you have commitments outside Rotary, to family and friends and to work, and rightly so.  I ask that you do what you can and when you can, to help make a difference in our communities and across the world. Rotary making a difference. Yours in Rotary Service Elwyn Hodges District 9630 Governor 2017-18
