District Governor - Jitendra and Nirmala Prasad (DG 2018-19) Rotary Club of Brisbane International.
Jitendra was born in Labasa, Fiji and completed his Grade 12 studies at Brisbane Boys’ College in 1981. He holds a Masters of Business Administrat ion (MBA), Bachelor of Commerce and Graduate Diploma in Advanced Accounting from The University of Queensland. He is a Fellow member of the Institute of Public Accountants of Australia. Jitendra, is the founder of Veal and Prasad, an accounting practice that he established in 1994, and now in partnership with his young brother. A Rotarian since 1986, Jitendra was instrumental in the formation of and is the Charter President of the Rotary Club of Brisbane International and has also been Club President, Club Treasurer, Club Secretary and Director with other Clubs at various times.  He has also previously served as Assistant Governor and District Treasurer for District 9630. Jitendra is married to Nirmala Prasad and they have two adult children, Niha and Jayshil who are both married. Nirmala, a high school teacher is also a Rotarian and is currently serving as the Effective Services Director with her club, Rotary Club of Brisbane International. As a very enthusiastic and passionate Rotarian Jitendra has also participated in the Polio Plus program in India and has played an integral part in several other Rotary projects including:
Nasarwaqa School water project - Labasa, Fiji. Salove Indian School computer lab project – Labasa, Fiji. Rehab centre for handicapped orphans project - Petrich, Bulgaria. Food for the Homeless project – Woodridge,Brisbane. He is excited about the challenge ahead and looks forward to serving and making a difference to District 9630 and serving humanity. His passion and enthusiasm to embrace, love, live and enjoy Rotary will be the cornerstone of his journey. Jitendra thrives on challenges and believes in Mahatma Gandhi’s philosophy: “The best way to find yourself is to loose yourself in the service of others “
District Governor Elect - Ros Kelly (DG 2019-20) Rotary Club of Woolloongabba Ros was born in Toowoomba in 1960. After finishing school she married and moved to Newcastle where her three children, Scott, Josh and Laura, were born. Ros returned to studies and completed her Degree in Computer Programming. Ros was an active member of the local school P&C committees and a board member of the Kindergarten Union. Moving to Canberra she worked for the ATO and continued her studies in a Graduate Diploma of Business Management and another in Project Management. She was also actively involved in local community groups. Missing the Queensland lifestyle Ros was promoted and returned to Brisbane in 2003. She also began her overseas adventures and fell in love with Italy. Back in Brisbane Ros again become involved in the community joining the Rotary Club of Woolloongabba, working with groups in the Mental Health field and an active member of local business networks. For the last seven years Ros has worked in the Public Safety area as an ICT Account and Project Manager with Queensland Fire and Emergency Services, Queensland Police Service, Queensland Ambulance Service and Public Safety Business Agency. This means being lucky enough to work for and with the Queensland Community every day. Ros has been club President twice, Secretary over several years, the club’s Rotary Foundation Director, a Peace Fellow Counsellor and an Assistant Governor (AG) for the District. Being an AG gave Ros the incredible opportunity to meet and work with so many other Rotarians and clubs and was one of the best years in Rotary so far. She will also become the District Learning & Development Director in 2018-19.
 As a member of the Rotary Club of Woolloongabba, Ros has been active in all their community events and in particular assisting the club reinvigorate the local Gabba Senior Citizens and Community Centre. She actively helps lead their youth programs and is passionate about the Rotary Peace program. Ros finds Rotary gives her extraordinary opportunities to help both her local community and national and international projects and communities. She loves the wonderful Rotary members and friends she has met at Rotary events such as the Rotary International Conventions, District Conferences and events. Ros has a passion for linking people together and has great success in helping youth develop through mentoring, the Rotary leadership and science programs and bringing together business, youth, community groups and Rotary. To be able to combine all this and work with the wonderful clubs from the coast to the inland border as the D9630 District Governor for 2019-20 is a gift that she will treasure and work very hard at to assist in making a difference.
